§ 2-76. City attorney.

The city attorney shall:

(1)

Conduct the law business of the city.

(2)

Represent the city in legal proceedings in which the city is a party.

(3)

Represent the city where an officer of the city, in his official capacity, is a party.

(4)

Prepare, when requested by the mayor and council, deeds, leases, contracts and other legal documents required by the business of the city.

(5)

Furnish written opinions upon subjects involving the business and operations of the city when requested by the mayor and council.

(6)

Render other legal services consistent with the usual duties of city attorneys.
